11 Signs That Might Prove A Mom Is Done Having Babies

Every parent loves their kids, and it’s not uncommon for them to wonder if they are ready to add one more to the list of kin. Having a baby is a lovely experience for parents, and if you’ve dreamed of having a big family, you will probably always ask yourself if you want one more kid. You might even have constructive discussions to figure out the pros and cons of having another kid. These conversations may prove useful and might give you a certain clarity if you want to add more kids to the mix. However, sometimes your own actions reveal how you truly feel about pregnancy, and they couldn’t be more precise. Here are 11 signs that might prove that you are done having babies:

1. First Trimester

You know what to expect from pregnancy since it is not your first time. You know how the next nine months are going to play out, and yet, during the first trimester, you think to yourself, “I can’t wait for this to be over”.

2. Second Trimester

You know that many women would be praying to be in your position, but you cannot wait to be done with the pregnancy. You spend most of your waking pregnant time wondering why you put yourself in this position AGAIN and sigh helplessly about it.

3. Third Trimester

You discuss with your husband about him getting a vasectomy again, and this time you are serious about it because you know you cannot go on this journey again. You also tell your husband that you have no energy to take care of business and open up about not wanting to do the whole pregnancy thing again.

4. Delivery Technique

It’s the end of the third trimester, and you discuss having a C-section with your friends, mostly because you can get your tubes tied after the process and never have to deal with another baby bump again.

5. Labor Time

Instead of experiencing the magic of childbirth, you wonder which urologist is best for your husband’s vasectomy to prevent future pregnancies. Sound familiar?

6. Baby Time

During the first few weeks of your pregnancy, you cannot help but think about how beautiful your baby is while you hold them in your arms. But that thought is nothing but a fleeting moment because as soon as your friend tells you that her husband got a vasectomy, you carefully jot down the doctor’s number.

7. Few Months In

It’s been a few months with your newborn baby, and you think to yourself, “This is actually pretty great”. Your baby sleeps well and feeds without any trouble. You are enjoying your maternity leave, but soon you remember what the next few months have in store for you. Do you have the energy to deal with a hyperactive baby? No, you don’t *sigh*.

8. Husband Quarrels

You get mad when your husband suggests that you have another baby. He’s not supposed to suggest that. “Stupid men”, you think to yourself. The next time the question comes up, he says, “it’s up to you”, and you still get mad because he’s supposed to say, “I think we’re done.”

9. Added Stress

You stay up at night worrying about college tuition and other financial responsibilities. You remember that you love to travel and will have to cut down on the number of trips you make because you chose to have another child. Besides, it dawns on you how much you hated being pregnant.

10. Snip & Knot

After a serious discussion with your hubby, you schedule an appointment for a vasectomy and stand by him while he undergoes the procedure.
